$50 meal and you get to cook it yourself and don't forget this is not an "all you can eat" joint.

In a bar-like setting, Joon Shabu Shabu, is not your traditional place and more just an Asian hot pot. With a limited selection of meats, the menu is simple and yet elegant. Base flavors for the soup are subtle and as strong as you want to muster out by squeezing the bottle. Dipping sauces are surprisingly delicious and pair very well with the meats. Vegetable selection is also on par with having the hot pot essentials further making a complete meal.

The favorites are either the Angus beef or the blade-cut Joon beef. You really can not go wrong. The quality is high and perfectly sliced thin.

The staff is good and friendly with the occasional hiccup of not filling your water glasses frequently enough.

Contentiously, is the value of this. Although, tasty in nature with excellent ingredients, Joon Shabu Shabu is a good choice for your hot pot fix. Unfortunately, the standard $37 base pricing for a large dinner portion is quite a bit light compared to some alternatives elsewhere in the city. Additional add-ons can set you back another $10 and if you're a protein-seeking carnivore you can easily tack on another $20-$30 per person.

Service was above and beyond and Joon Shabu Shabu! My husband and I are fairly new to Shabu Shabu but Joon had stellar reviews and with good reason. We let the host know if was our first time and that we knew little about what to order. She informed our server which then gave us the full breakdown plus his suggestions/ popular options. They were beyond accommodating. Our server brought us a sampler of their sauces and marinades to try. My husband ordered the beef and I order the pork, we kind of shared the meats and the servings were plentiful. The veggies are served separately to compliment each protein. All i can say is WOW ! Such good flavors such wonderful quality. And the staff was the sweetest. Clean restaurant and bathroom facilities. Husband and I cannot wait to be back!

The meat quality is good the service is great only real issue is the pricing of extra meat price. Go here if you have a shabu craving but avoid this place if you're hungry. $80 for Angus Beef set and Angus Beef extra meat 15oz total and a Soda. There are other shabu places that serve 16oz XL Angus Plates for $47 or Angus Set $35 and extra meat $12. At that $80 price point there are some awesome AYCE shabu places for around $50-70

Happy Hour is a plus too 5:30-7 weekdays and weekends 11:30-7!

Love how customizable the pots and broth is. The meat is great quality and the ambiance is nice too.. low seating or high top bar seating. Super close to the Americana and tons of shopping nearby.

Also love the sake collection! The peach nigori is a must have!

Our family loves this restaurant.  Food and staff could not be better.  If you like spicy ask for their habanero sauce.

The best shabu shabu around Glendale! Cheap for the quality of meat and side items. The service is so friendly. Drinks are also cheap - just go now and enjoy a delicious meal! Kid friendly too!

I live in west LA and have been to this place twice. It's definitely worth the 1h drive in LA traffic!!

You choose the type of protein (seafood/vegetarian option available) and choice of noodles (udon, ramen). Each set comes with vegetables, purple rice, as well as a choice of two sauces. The type of protein and the amount dictates the price, as well as if it is during lunch vs dinner. In my opinion, the regular protein size is more than sufficient given all the other extra items each set comes with.

They have multiple dipping sauces and as you are only allowed to choose two, you can request a sampler for you to taste ahead of time.

I would say the pricing ($27-35 during dinner depending on protein) is quite reasonable given the amount of food you have.

The service was good. They were prompt with filling our water, and also offered to provide us with more liquid for the shabu shabu when liquid runs low.

The ambiance was fine. Definitely more of a casual vibe to go with friends/family, so if you're looking for an aesthetically pleasing place for a date night, this is not exactly the place (although shabu shabu isn't the best date idea either)

One of my most favorite shabu shabu in LA to date, and if I ate beef I would highly try their sukiyaki as I saw multiple tables choosing it.
